Pinealon (also known as EDR peptide) is a synthetic tripeptide composed of three amino acids (Glu‑Asp‑Arg). Unlike many peptides that act on cell surface receptors, Pinealon's small molecular size enables it to penetrate both the plasma and nuclear membranes, allowing direct interaction with DNA to regulate gene expression. Its neuroprotective effects stem from multiple mechanisms, including inhibition of reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, suppression of ERK1/2 signaling pathway activation, modulation of apoptosis via caspase‑3 regulation, stimulation of functional activity in major brain tissue components, and reduction of spontaneous cell death. Pinealon is also used as a research tool in neuroprotection and anti‑aging intervention studies.

Product FAQ
What is Pinealon?
Pinealon is a tripeptide composed of glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and arginine (Glu-Asp-Arg), also known as the EDR peptide. It has demonstrated potential in neuroprotection and cognitive function support, with primary research focusing on the regulation of brain tissue cellular activity and resistance to oxidative stress.
What is the mechanism of action of Pinealon?
Pinealon works through multiple mechanisms:
· Antioxidant: Suppresses reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and reduces oxidative stress damage
· nti-apoptotic: Reduces the rate of spontaneous cell death and protects neuronal survival
·Mitochondrial support: Supports neuronal metabolism and mitochondrial function, especially in aging or stressed neural tissues
· Cell cycle modulation: May directly interact with the cell genome to regulate cell cycle progression
What are the main research areas for Pinealon?
· Cognitive function support and memory improvement
· Neuroprotection (anti-oxidative stress, anti-apoptosis)
· Sleep-wake cycle regulation and recovery optimization
· Intervention for age-related cognitive decline
· Neuroprotection against prenatal hyperhomocysteinemia
