GHK-Cu Research Grade: Identity and Record Boundaries
A GHK-Cu research grade audit that separates category wording, GHK ligand records, copper-complex candidates, analytical files, and lot connections.

GHK-Cu research grade combines a category phrase with a chemically specific name, but those layers answer different questions. “Research grade” is not a universal legal or quality class. A reviewer must keep the displayed label, the GHK ligand record, the copper-complex record, and any lot document as separate evidence until the records explicitly connect.
Parse the label into claims
Freeze the exact wording, punctuation, page or file location, item identifier, and retrieval date. Then split the label into two propositions: what “research grade” is being used to describe, and what chemical identity “GHK-Cu” is intended to name. The first is a category disclosure; the second requires a defined structure or sequence record. Neither proposition alone establishes purity, safety, activity, suitability, or intended human or veterinary use.
GHK and copper-complex records are not interchangeable
PubChem’s PUG REST query for glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine returns CID 73587, with a structure record titled “glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine.” A separate query for GHK-Cu returns multiple records, including CID 133697840 titled “GHK-Cu” and CID 139035031 titled “Copper tripeptide.” These are database records with distinct identifiers and structure fields. The multiplicity is itself a reason to record the exact CID and structure representation instead of treating every copper-tripeptide name as one canonical material.
A catalogue item that says “GHK-Cu research grade” may be intended to refer to one of those records, to a different salt or complex, or only to a seller’s naming convention. The page does not resolve that choice unless it supplies a matching structure identifier, sequence/complex description, or other unambiguous field.

Mark each join as supported, not reported, or contradictory. A repeated “research grade” phrase is not a substitute for a missing identifier or lot number.
Use the official source at its actual scope
PubChem Compound records provide standardized chemical-structure records, while depositor-submitted Substance records preserve submitted descriptions. Those record types help locate names and structure fields; they do not assign a universal research-grade classification or certify a seller’s material. The PUG query is a retrieval of fields for the returned records, not an independent analysis of a catalogue lot.
Do not import a regulatory meaning from an unrelated label rule. For example, 21 CFR 809.10(c)(2)(i) concerns “for research use only” labeling of U.S. in-vitro diagnostic products. It neither defines “research grade” for GHK-Cu nor proves approval, purity, safety, performance, or suitability of a peptide listing.

Record a conflict instead of choosing a synonym
If a listing says GHK-Cu but a supplied file names only GHK (CID 73587), record the ligand/complex mismatch. If a file names “copper tripeptide” without a CID or structure, do not silently choose CID 139035031 or CID 133697840. If the lot is absent, the analytical statement remains unlinked to the item in hand.
Use bounded wording such as “research-grade category displayed,” “GHK ligand record identified,” “copper-complex record candidate,” or “lot connection not established.” These phrases preserve uncertainty rather than upgrading a label into a property claim.
What this page deliberately does not decide
- There is no universal statutory or scientific “research grade” threshold established here.
- A PubChem match does not prove sequence, salt, formulation, purity, sterility, stability, activity, or safety of a supplied lot.
- A page or certificate does not prove a seller’s authority, manufacturing role, inventory, or suitability for a research purpose.
- No database name match substitutes for a sample- and lot-specific analytical record.
Use a record matrix before assigning a complex identity
Keep four records side by side: the displayed label, the catalogue item, the cited ligand or copper-complex record, and the lot-linked analytical file. The label record preserves the exact GHK-Cu research-grade wording and capture date. The catalogue record preserves its own item identifier. The identity record preserves the exact CID, title, and structure fields returned by its source. The analytical record preserves method, result, unit, sample identifier, report date, and lot where actually shown.
Compare the fields without filling gaps. A catalogue term that lacks a CID or explicit complex description does not select one PubChem result. A structure record that lacks a lot does not identify a vial. An analytical result that lacks a matching item and lot cannot be assigned to the displayed listing. The first missing or contradictory join is the stopping point; later records remain separately scoped observations.
Catalogue context does not establish a lot result
A published research material catalogue record can document the page context captured at one time. It cannot establish a universal grade definition, a particular ligand or complex form, or a connection to an analytical file. Those claims require explicit matching identifiers across the item, identity, report, and lot records.
