Do not turn adjacent names into an identity claim

TB-500 and Thymosin beta-4 can appear together in searches, but a shared research area does not establish that the terms identify the same sequence, preparation, or test article. Preserve the exact name used by a paper and compare it with the label and analytical documents for a received material before linking records.

Defined source: Thymosin beta-4 and actin assembly

Carlier et al. (1996; PMID 8621582) studied Thymosin beta-4 in biochemical actin-assembly experiments. The paper examined G-actin and F-actin interactions, used cross-linking to investigate incorporation into F-actin, and reported concentration-dependent changes in the system. Its results concern Thymosin beta-4 and the stated in vitro conditions.

This source does not identify TB-500 as its test article. It cannot establish that a TB-500 catalogue item is equivalent to the material in the paper, nor can it verify a separately received batch. The distinction is the central finding of this review, not a disclaimer added after a broader claim.
