Melanotan II in PMID 35188390
Tomassi et al. (2022; PMID 35188390) describes Melanotan II (MT-II) as the parent peptide in a medicinal-chemistry study of human melanocortin receptors. The authors replaced the parent peptide’s lactam cyclization with xylene-derived thioethers, then reported hMCR binding-affinity measurements for the resulting peptides. The abstract identifies compound 5 as having functional selectivity toward hMC1R and describes a peptide 5/hMC1R complex model.
These receptor and analogue observations belong to the MT-II parent peptide, the modified peptides, and the hMCR experimental systems reported by the authors. No PT-141 result is attributed here to PMID 35188390.

PubChem CID 9941379 supports the PT-141/Bremelanotide name relationship. PubChem CID 92432 supports the Melanotan II/MT-II name relationship. PMID 35188390 supports the stated MT-II analogue and hMCR findings. None of these sources establishes the identity, composition, purity, manufacture, or performance of another catalogue lot, and the cited study does not supply a PT-141-versus-Melanotan II comparison.
